It takes less than a second!
November 3rd, 2010
6:50a - Waking up and getting ready for the day, i have no idea how close my life could come to a close, and in less than an hour away.
7:20a - Usually, i'm ready a little earlier, but since it's Wednesday, i took my time, and by now i'm waiting at the front window. Watching for Jared to come outside. He would be the one to drive me to school.
7:30a - Because it's late start wednesday, Jared is still inside. At this point, i decide to go outside and wait. I'm not a very big coat guy, and i wasn't that cold, so i didn't have a coat on.
7:40a - On the dot, Jared comes outside, and we get in the car. While i was waiting, i wrote "Hey Yo!" on the outside of the windshield. but i wrote it backwards so that it could be read from the inside. Still, i had no idea that in just a few minutes, my life would come close to death.
7:43a - While heading west towards Centennial, a car swerves into the other lane. Jared and i don't recognize the car in front of us - stopped - until it's to late. (Jared turns the car, and slams on the break, but nothing much happens. We plowed into the other car, and both of our airbags went off. I immediately called 911.
7:48a - Police arrive on the scene. Fortunately, no paramedics were needed.
8:10a - First tow truck arrives and tows the other car. The driver of that car was a young mother with a baby in a car seat in the back. The baby wasn't even crying! Infact, she was smiling like she had fun!
8:20a - the second tow truck arrived on scene and began towing Jared's car.
8:30a - We finish giving the police officer information, and begin talking about sports.
8:35a - We leave the scene and head straight to school.
8:40a - We check into school. I have to say, that during the crash, my binder which was in the back seat, flew open, and my papers went everywhere. They were all covered in some weird chemical that came out with the airbag explosion. They still smell 3 days later! I also think my body still smells like it sometimes. School was very hard, and i had a lot of troubles focusing.
3:30p - I usually really enjoy driving, but when my mom asked if i would go pick up Ally, I turned her down. Today, i again enjoy driving!
